Day 65

A couple of things have lead me to todays Scripture in Matthew 5. This chapter starts off with the attitudes that we should be in, but the main part that caught my eye was in verse 14. Sometimes I may not quote it so that one may go read it for themselves and hopefully they would hear what God has to say to them. But this reminded me of the kids at my school that wanted to start their own Bible Study. They want to be called Knight Lights and recently I picked up the single by Toby Mac called Cit… Continue

Day 64

I woke up today kind of dazed, not knowing what day it was. The electricity went off, so the clocks were all messed up, but when the alarm turned on KEARTH and I was thinking, "What Scripture should I open up to?" Barry White came on singing I Can't Get Enough Of Your Love. It sort of renewed my spirit and woke me up. That's when I thought about needing more of God when my strength is drained. So since I already used the Isaiah passage, I turned to Psalm 51 where it says, "renew a steadfast spir… Continue

Poem: The Dark Heretic

In diligent search of God
was the dark heretic,
a master of the natural world
and our father of modern physics.

In defiance of the Church
stood Sir Isaac Newton alone,
cloistered in his office, clinging…
To personal beliefs, of his own.

Interest in “The End Times”
was his lifelong, secret mission -
His papers were intentionally hidden,
from recognizing the gravity of his situation.

In the study of Divine Prophesy,
Newton poured incessantly over The Word,
convinced that his Doomsday calculatio… Continue

Day 63

A few things fit together yesterday to give me this idea to write about. As I entered the church last night, they were singing a song that said, "You have captured my heart, yes, you have." For some reason I thought of a father looking down at his child at play and everything else around him goes away. The past, the future, the worries, everything is gone except for that moment of seeing the joy upon their face.

It was also Steven Curtis Chapman's birthday in which he just had a daughter that p… Continue

Screenplay Wilbur

Wilbur - Synopsis

Ricky is a young lad with a passion for photography. He takes pictures and pretends he’s a film producer. It’s his desire to produce a movie about ALL GOD’S CRITTERS.

One night, Ricky has a dream about a sad and lonely, goofy looking moose head by the name of Wilbur, who hangs on the entrance wall of an abandoned Boy Scout lodge just above Ponderey Lake in Northern Idaho.

Ricky finds out that it’s Wilbur’s desire to be whole again, so he can play and dance and be with his gi… Continue

Day 62

Romans 12 opened my eyes this morning to the practical purpose for living each and every day. After last nights football game at Schurr, I was shaking hands with the head coach & congratulating him on the victory. As he put his arm around me, he took me aside and said he needed to talk to me. Amongst all the noise, I couldn't hear him clearly, but I thought he had said that the wife of the coach that had taught all of the Jordan boys had passed away. It changes your perspective really quick… Continue

Rules For Holy Living

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ, is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature, because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you onced li… Continue

Day 61

Last night I went to the premiere of the movie, not at midnight, and not New Moon. This was a story taken from real life - The Blind Side. It was good and I don't want to give any of the plot away, but it reminded me of the Scripture in Matthew 25 where it says, "whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." Sometimes we never know how much influence we have on another persons life. We can give a person confidence or we can tear down their spirit. Even when we… Continue

Amazing peace!

Jesus gives us more than one reason why we need his peace. Christ said to his disciples in John 14:30, “The prince of this world cometh.” What was the context of his statement? He had just told the twelve, “Hereafter I will not talk much with you” (14:30). Then he explained why: “For the prince of this world cometh.”

Jesus knew Satan was at work in that very hour. The devil had already enlisted Judas to betray him. And Christ knew that the religious hierarchy in Jerusalem was being empowered by… Continue

Day 60

We are 2 thirds of the way thru our Spiritual P90X Program. Hopefully this has encouraged many of you to get into the Word of God for yourself. Today I'm going be reading from Luke 17. After a long day of school, we had department meetings, then I had to go to the District Office for a class, then on my way home, I decided to go to church. Pastor Tom was talking about the 10 lepers & only one came back to Jesus to say "Thank You". Now that may seem like a lot of ungrateful people that were h… Continue

The measure of your life - Jack Graham

The measure of your life

November 19, 2009

... looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith...

--Hebrews 12:2

It's natural for people to make plans for their life. Even in our later years, we tend to make plans for decades to come. But none of us knows when this race will be over... when our lives will end.

We might hope to live to be 80, 90 or 100, and then one day gather our family around us, lay down in our bed, speak a few well-chosen words of blessing, then close our eyes a… Continue

A cloud of witnesses

Hebrews 12:1 tells us that the world is encircled by a cloud of witnesses who are with Christ in glory. What does this multitude of heavenly witnesses have to say to the present world? We live in a generation that is far more wicked than Noah’s. What can these witnesses say to a human race whose sins exceed even that of Sodom?

Our day is one of great prosperity. Our economy has been blessed, yet our society has become so immoral, violent and anti-God that even secularists bemoan how far we have… Continue

How are you advancing the Kingdom of God on earth? - Jack Graham

Are you running your best race?

November 18, 2009

... let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely... and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.

--Hebrews 12:1

Let me ask you something as a little check up. How much time do you spend watching TV?

There are so many other important things for people to do with their time. Watching… Continue

Day 59

Four score and seven years ago... tomorrow will be the anniversary of the Gettysburg Address given by Abraham Lincoln during the time of Civil War. I'm reminded of Hebrews 11 where the great people of faith are remembered for their great acts that were passed on to future generations.

We may not realize that the things we do today will effect those who come after us. Let's remember to leave a legacy that will urge others to do the right thing no matter what the cost. And yes there will be a cos… Continue

Poem: When Will You Come?

Oh my Lord –

When will You come?
Will I be found, before my earthly life is done?

Will I experience Your Resurrection Power
and observe how sin You have conquered & devoured?

It’s a win-win scenario, for me, in any case –
As I long to see Your radiance, revealed at Heaven’s pace.

To enter Your gates with humble willingness
is real, knowing that I’m clothed by Your Righteousness.

When will You come?
Will I be found, before Death has finally succumbed?

Although Your timetable has not bee… Continue

When the Holy Spirit comes - David Wilkerson

The prophet Isaiah describes what happens when the Holy Spirit falls upon a people. Isaiah prophesies, “The spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest” (Isaiah 32:15).

Isaiah is saying, “When the Holy Ghost comes, what was once a barren wilderness becomes a harvest field. A dead patch of ground suddenly overflows with fruit. And this is no temporary harvest. The field of fruit will grow into a forest. And you’ll… Continue

Thanksgiving: The power of a thankful heart - Debbie Przybylski

Thanksgiving: The Power of a Thankful Heart

"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
I Thessalonians 5:16-18

It is not always easy to give thanks, but this is the very thing we must do in order to see God's will accomplished in our lives. This is how we move into higher realms of faith for ourselves, for our city, and for our nation. Thanksgiving breaks the power of the enemy. Whenever you give… Continue

Day 58

Let's talk about Sarah Palin since Oprah has everybody chattering on the upcoming book & her interview. Yea right. I'm going to talk about more important things that will outlast people like Sarah & Oprah. Yesterday on my way to work, a song called It's Good To Be Alive by Geoff Moore came on and it gave me such an attitude change just to enjoy the little things in life. When I got on campus, I think I was younger than the kids with a huge smile on my face. Sometimes we have to stop &… Continue
